Rathaus Restaurant & Café

The interior design concept for Rathaus Restaurant and Café in Miskolc was developed as a complete transformation of an existing hospitality space. The aim was to create an elegant and distinctive restaurant interior, reinterpreting the atmosphere of traditional European urban cafés through a contemporary approach to space and materials.

The concept was structured around the proportions of the interior and the relationship between its different functional zones. The dining area, bar and circulation spaces were conceived as a coherent whole, while variations in materials, surfaces and lighting subtly define the individual areas.

A restrained palette of grey and off-white is complemented by gold and yellow accents. The rhythm of the large pendant lights is more than a decorative element: it helps establish the scale and character of the high-ceilinged interior. Wall finishes, mirrors, custom-designed furniture and lighting work together to create a distinctive visual identity for the restaurant.

The Rathaus Restaurant and Café was developed as an interior design concept and was ultimately not realised.
